The Pupil Leadership Team
About Us
The Pupil Leadership Team
Kirkcudbright Academy operates a Pupil Leadership Team elected by their Peer and School Staff.
There will be 3 House Heads, 1 from each of, McLellan, Selkirk and Stewart, with 6 House Prefects, each with responsibility of leading specific areas of the school, as are outlined below.
Purpose and Rationale:
We are looking for our S6 Pupil Leadership Team to be highly visible and supportive of students of the Academy. They should contribute to running or assisting with lunchtime and afterschool clubs, meeting and greeting visitors to the school, engaging in a pastoral role to younger students, setting standards for good behaviour and being a positive role model for younger students.
The Head of Houses
House Heads must be identifiable figureheads, leading the school both as public figures and as models of conduct and commitment. They will represent the school when necessary – at presentations, public meetings and in committee. Finally, they will oversee Prefects, the S6 committees and their operations throughout the year and report issues within the S6 Pupil Leadership Team to Support Teachers.
Our House Heads for 2026/27 are:
- Aimee Storrie (Stewart)
- Murray Patterson (Selkirk)
- Asha Morris (McLellan)
Our Prefect Team are:
- Hazel Dempster (Student Mentor)
- Anelle Hall (Wellbeing & Inclusion)
- Jack Hutchison (Interhouse Competitions)
- Eliza Clark (Events)
- Ben Hodson (Charity & Fundraising)
- Stuart Davies (Communication and Publicity)

After watching the video presentations, form classes and staff will be invited to take part in the voting process.
The voting process will follow these guidelines:
