Communication
Good communication between Parent/Carers and the Academy is essential in ensuring your child is happy, safe and achieving the best they can during their time at the school.
When contacting the school we would ask Parents/Carers initially contact the school office, using the contact details at the bottom of this page, who will be able to direct you to the most appropriate person to deal with your enquiry.
Parents/Carers are asked not to contact teaching staff directly.

Schoolbag Mail
The school will still issue Pupil Progress Reports, Information Letters, School Trip Permission Forms etc.. via the school pupils to take home for the Parent/Carer, this is known as ‘Bag Mail’.
It is important that Parents/Carers check the pupils schoolbag on a regular basis as many pupils forget to pass this type of information on. When items are issued via ‘Bag Mail’ a Groupcall or email will be sent informing Parents/Carers to look out for this.

Satchel One
Satchel One, formally known as ‘Show My Homework’ is an Online App which the Academy has invested in to replace the pupil Homework Diary. Staff will upload information regarding any homework missed to the pupils in their class, along with completion dates and method of submission.
Parents should ensure they download this App and Log In to receive notifications of homework issued. The App will also be used to notify both Pupils and Parent/Carers of Events and Activities taking place within the school, reporting on Behaviour, both positive and negative and the issuing of any detentions issued by the school.

Parents Portal
The ‘Parents Portal’ is a secure online platform where Parents/Carers can access information about their child’s education.
The Academy are currently using the Parent Portal to issue Pupil Progress Reports and we would ask Parents/Carers to ensure they can get access to this platform and check it on a regular basis.

Groupcall
Groupcall is currently the main platform the Academy uses for contacting Parents/Carers, either individually, small groups or whole school. It will be used when we need to issue urgent and important messages to Parents/Carers such as; School Closures, issues with School Transport, impending school activities, information being sent home via ‘Bag Mail’ etc…
It is important that Parents/Carers keep the school up-to-date with contact details to ensure messages are delivered and received by the relevant person.
The Academy Facebook page is used to inform parents of Achievements, Activities and Events our young people are involved in, both in school and within the wider community.
If you have any information regarding achievements of our pupils across the wider community contact the school office to allow us to showcase these important events.
