Creating an environment which develops a love of learning

About us

Admissions

The majority of student enrolling at Kirkcudbright Academy will be through direct transfer from one of the associated primary schools. Transfer from primary to secondary school will be dealt with by direct approach to parents from individual primary schools. Parents also have the option to request attendance at a school outwith their catchment area when transfering from primary school to secondary, parents can access information on opting for an alternative school through a Placing Request either directly from the school or the Council.

At Kirkcudbright Academy we also receive frequent requests to enrol students at various times within their education and for various reasons. We are more that pleased to receive enquiries of this nature and would invite parents and students to the school for an initial interview and to take a tour of the school.

We welcome adult learners to any of our SQA National Qualification classes where we have spaces, provided they are approved by Disclosure Scotland. Attendance would be approximately 5 hours weekly for each subject.
