Academy Vision
We want all our pupils to be successful learners and to achieve as well as they can during their time with us.
We want them to contribute to the life of the school, taking responsibility for their own learning and looking out for and after others.
We regard school as a first step in lifelong learning and we want our pupils to be eager to learn throughout their life. In school, we encourage pupils to believe in themselves and strive to be the best they can be so that they can make the most of the opportunities available to them.
This means that we encourage pupils, through word and actions, to become confident individuals and responsible citizens.
Values
During session 2025/26 the school decided to review the existing ‘Values’ of the school, with a view to establishing new values that everyone could relate to. This was led by the Pupil Council of the school and following this extensive process the following values were agreed upon:
Here at The Academy we believe that openness and honesty make for the best relationships because it leads to trust and faith. … It’s important to always act with integrity in everything you do, to be compassionate, friendly, loyal; to make sure that you do the right thing in everything you do.
We believe that equity is at the heart of good educational practice. This can be achieved through differentiated work to allow pace and challenge, providing support allowing all to meet their full potential providing inclusive practice.
At the Academy we attempt to install the desire and determination to achieve individual goals. This is done through the use of Aspirational Target Grades, supported study, the provision of extra-curricular opportunities and encourage pupils to move on to positive destinations.
Everyone at The Academy should be treated with respect, regardless of race, gender or religious beliefs. Respect should also be shown to the school environment, taking care of the fabric and equipment within the school building. This can be achieved through the use of restorative practice, listening to all viewpoints, creating a safe classroom environment and implementing the rights of the child (UNCRC)
Teamwork can be achieved through the building of positive relationships while working together to reach your full potential. It also involves creating opportunities to work with the local community.
Academy Aims
Our aim is to provide a meaningful and effective education for all our pupils. We seek to achieve this by creating a caring learning and teaching environment where staff can deliver a vibrant and flexible curriculum which is responsive both to the needs of individual pupils and those of a changing society. Central to this is a strong partnership between staff, pupils, parents and the wider community, all working together in pursuit of the above aim.

We make every lesson informative and engaging in order to ensure a thorough understanding of each subject so that our students can maximise their academic potential.
Our academic staff are experts in their chosen fields, dedicated to their students and committed to getting the very best from each of them. Developing self-motivation is as important as academic results. With our broad curriculum and inspiring teaching, we encourage the students to challenge themselves and to work diligently to achieve their goals.
