Pupils who have complete courses at National 5, Higher Grade and Advanced Higher will receive their provisional results via email tomorrow at the end of the school day. All pupils concerned should check their school email accounts.
Provisional results, which will be forwarded to the SQA, have been generated across all subjects where pupils have been presented at National 5, Higher Grade and Advanced Higher. Staff have used a variety of assessment methods to arrive at these results, including formal class tests and assignments. Strict guidance has been issued by the SQA to support staff in generating these results with many of the assessment instruments used being provided by the exam body.
Although these assessment instruments have been marked by the staff at the Academy, this marking has been followed up by intensive scrutiny where marking, across all subjects, has been moderated by specialist teachers from other schools. This has been done to ensure accuracy and fairness of the marks awarded to our pupils.
Although pupils and parents can appeal their results it should be pointed out that evidence submitted to the SQA in the appeals process will be the same evidence that was used to arrive at the provisional mark.
