At the Academy we have an active Pupil Council made up of the student body with the opportunity for representation cross all years.

S1 representatives have at least 1 student from each House Group with the remainder of the positions applied for from across S2 – S6, supported by Miss Gibson & Miss Hodgson.

REMIT

The remit of the Pupil Council covers the heading below:

  • Whole school issues & Policies (Input, Creation, Sharing thoughts & ideas)
  • A specific yearly/termly focus.

25/26 focus: School Vision/Values

26/27 focus: Anti-Bullying

Completed/year plans – Summer 26:

  • Feedback on Learning and Teaching Policy – completed
  • Feedback on Structure of Pupil council (Local Authority) – completed
  • Collated opinions on school inclusion – help inform review of antibullying policy
  • Re-instating school vision/values and re-designing poster – completed
  • Issues: Water Fountains/how to tackle – bullying/Vapes/Rights activities (how to make relevant to individuals)
