We are pleased to announce that our Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) has finally been refurbished and is now available for use. The MUGA has been out of commission for many years due to a lack of maintenance and resulting flooding. The lack of availability has had a negative impact on our P.E. department limiting the type of activities that could be offered within the subject area, especially during the Autumn and Winter months. The availability of the facility will also allow Tennis to be taught during the summer term.
Fortunately, even after years of neglect by the Authority, the sub-structure was still in good condition and drainage was working efficiently the contractors were confident that with regular maintenance the MUGA should last for many years to come.
Many thanks to those that ‘lobbied’ the Authority for action on the MUGA at the Academy, it was well worth it in the end.
