Results Day

Those students who sat exams at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher will have their results certificate delivered to their home address by first class post today, Tuesday 6 August. Those who have signed-up for and activated their MySQA account will also receive their results by text and/or email the same morning.

If students do not receive their certificate with their post, they can contact the Academy, who can provide results and work with SQA to find out what has happened to the certificate.

Well Done, to everyone, hopefully you have achieved the results your hard work and effort deserves

Don’t panic if you have not achieved the results you were expecting there are a number of options you can access to get the help you may need:

 UCAS Clearing

Results day: the most stress-inducing part of the year for many students. Much of this has to do with whether you’ll get your first
choice of course and uni, or whether you’ll go through Clearing.

What is Clearing anyway? In simple terms, it’s how universities fill empty spots on their courses. Most of the time, this is through finding students who have decided to go to uni after the application deadline, or students who’ve not got the results they needed to get into their first choice course and are looking for alternative courses or universities.

Missing out on your first choice is always difficult, but that doesn’t mean you’ve run out of options — far from it. In fact, it’s an opportunity for you to start again.

 Appeals

On Results Day, SQA will open its helpline at 8am to answer learners’ questions about their certificates.

If students have a concern about a grade for a National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher course, they can appeal for free. They can appeal either by contacting the Academy or by using SQA’s learner direct service. While the final decision is the candidate’s, SQA would encourage anyone considering submitting an appeal to discuss their decision with their teacher first.
