Qualification Scotland
Providing Students with the opportunity to gain a wide range of qualifications
Qualifications Scotland is the main exam body who set and deliver the exams our young students sit.
‘In Scotland, we set and mark exams, and some coursework, for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. We also visit schools and colleges to assess performances in subjects like Music and Drama.
We work with thousands of practising teachers and lecturers who help us develop exam papers and who work with us as markers, invigilators, visiting assessors and in many other roles.’

Your National Qualifications
Qualifications Scotland’s learner booklet – Your National Qualifications – is available to download from their website. The booklet contains important information for learners creating and submitting coursework for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. It also highlights the rules that learners must know and follow to ensure they are not penalised. Please encourage your child to download and read the booklet. If you have any problems accessing the booklet please ask your child to speak to their pupil support.
