The pupils and staff at Kirkcudbright Academy marked Remembrance Day on Friday 11th November by holding a 2 minute silence along with a Wreath Laying ceremony. The 2 wreath laying parties, one in the main school hall and the other at the memorial stone in the school grounds were joined by representatives from the Parent Council, Kirkcudbright Rotary Club, Army and Sea Cadets.

In addition to the Remembrance ceremony the sixth year pupils at the school held a whole school assembly to highlight the reasons for remembering the sacrifices made by so many during the World Wars.

A special thank you to Miss Irvine for playing the ‘Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’.
