Wednesday 11th September saw a group of our S3 Students head off to Loch Ken to participate in a Water Safety Course. With a number of deaths due to drowning, around the country, this course was offered and run by the Loch Ken Rangers Team to schools around the Authority.

Although, following a spell of warm sunny weather, the day of the course proved to be cold and windy everyone involved enjoyed the experience, learning how to recover people in trouble using a variety of methods, from rescuing from a Paddleboard to rescuing from the shoreline.

Many thanks to the Loch Ken Rangers team for providing the students from Kirkcudbright Academy with the opportunity to participate in the course.
