S2 Science Center Trip
S2 pupils set off into a trip to Science Centre on Tuesday 28th of May and took part in a Space Station 3D journey. Schools Golf Competition
The interschool golf match between Kirkcudbright Academy, Castle Douglas High School and Dalbeattie High School was held on Wednesday 22nd May at Castle Douglas Golf Club. S3 STEM Challenge
On Friday some of our S3 pupils teamed up to try to win a contract, tendered by the local authority, to build an autonomous monorail system in Kirkcudbright. Pupils assumed the roles of Robot Programmer, Civil Engineer, Urban Planner and Construction Manager in our autonomous transport themed STEM session.
Norway Exchange
6 students from Kirkcudbright Academy recently joined up with 6 students from Kverhuset Secondary in Fredrikstad, Norway, to take part in an exchange program between the two schools. On Tuesday, 9th April, some of our S2 pupils became Forensic Scientists, Environmental Scientists and Detective Chief Inspectors as they teamed up to solve a crime for a Silent Witness themed STEM session.
